Do you want to become a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA))? Do you lack the financial means to pay for your studies?

The Thuthuka Bursary Fund invites academically deserving African and Coloured prospective students to apply for places on its programme across South African universities for study in 2013.

The purpose of the project is to annually place between 250 – 300 fully bursared African and Coloured students at selected SAICA-accredited universities in cohorts of 50 per university on special undergraduate BCom Accounting education programmes. The accredited universities that are part of the programme are the University of KwaZulu-Natal, University of Johannesburg, Stellenbosch University, University of Pretoria, University of Cape Town, Free State University and the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.

The Thuthuka Bursary Fund is looking for academically strong learners who aspire to become Chartered Accountants. Students who do exceptionally well in Mathematics and have excellent marks in the other subject to qualify for university entrance may apply,” states Thuthuka Bursary Fund in an advert.

Requirements

The learner must be African or Coloured
The learner must be a South African Citizen
The learner must obtain atleast 60% on Mathematics (5 or above on the NSC Scale of
Achievement) NOT MATHS LITERACY
The learner must be in Grd12 intending on studying B comm. Accounting
The Process of Awarding a Bursary
The application must have met the above criteria

The learner must have or be in the process of applying to one of the following tertiary
institutions:
 University of Johannesburg
 University of Cape Town (Bachelor of Commerce code CB011 )
 Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University
 North-West University (Mafikeng Campus)
 Stellenbosch University
 University of Pretoria
 University of the Free State
 University of KwaZulu Natal
 University of Witwatersrand (WITS)

Once the learner has met the above criteria they will be called in for testing ,
depending on the test results then the learner may be called in for an interview.
Once the learner has met all the above requirements and gone through the relevant test
and interview only then will the bursary be provisionally awarded to the learner pending
the final Grade 12 results.

If you are interest and you meet the requirements please download and fill in application Thuthuka Bursary Fund Application Form for 2013 and return it to Thuthuka Bursary Fund before 30 April 2012. After selection, the Thuthuka Bursary Fund will then invite you to one of its test venues to write a selection test. Thuthuka Bursary Fund 2013 Test Venues (download).

I have met requirements for the B- com degree but have failed to meet the requirements for maths i got a 70% aggregate 32 points but i had a problem with maths we did not have a teacher in our school i still passed but did not meet the requirements for maths but i intend on upgrading it this year how could i apply for the busaries for next year to study in 2014 i will submit all documents to prove and what should i do to go about this please notify me

    I’m nareng jan mboyane who complete metric in 2007 so I was asking if ever I can qualify for bursary I got symbol D(standard grade) in mathematics

  3. i am currently in matric, i get 70%+ for accounting and i currently got 60%+ in mathematics. i would love to apply for the bursary, please send me an application form

  4. Dear sir/madam. I matriculated last year and have an aggregate of 65%.I got an didtinction in accounting and a level-b for mathematics and I have applied for this bursaries and it is my only hope to get this bursary but I’m scared that I would not be chosen for this bursary.

  5. Yes I have applied to 2 different varsities but how would I know if I have been awarded the bursary or not?
