KZN Telkom Learnerships/Internship in Electrical Engineering 2013

South Africa’s telecommunications parastatal, Telkom is inviting suitably qualified electrical engineering graduates to apply for its Learnerships /internships for 2013. There are 30 positions on the programme and they will all be based in Durban, KwaZulu Natal.

The monthly stipend for the duration of the programme is R3500 per month.

What are the requirements?

Qualifications:

Candidates with the following qualifications will be considered:

–          N6 Electrical Engineering (Light Current) OR have completed academic training (awaiting experiential training in order to obtain the full qualification). OR

–          S4 Electrical Engineering (Light Current) OR have completed academic training (awaiting experiential training in order to obtain the full qualification). OR

–          BTech Electrical Engineering (Light Current) OR have completed academic training (awaiting experiential training in order to the full qualification). OR

–          BSc Electrical Engineering (Light Current) OR have completed academic training (awaiting experiential training in order to the full qualification).

Experience: No experience is required.

Special requirements:

–          South African citizen.

–          Able to work at heights/confined spaces.

–          Not being colour blind.

Skills and competencies required:

–          Team player

–           Analytical thinker

–          Problem solver

–          Self-directed

–          PC Literate

–          Efficient in interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building rapport with a diverse range of people (especially customers)

–          Efficient in communication skills

Core duties for successful candidates:

Candidates will receive theoretical training and practical exposure and experience in the telecommunications field.
