The University of South Africa (Unisa) is inviting applications from suitably qualified graduates for the following internship which will last six (6) months and to be undertaken during 2013: LIBRARY SERVICES INTERN (MUCKLENEUK/FLORIDA), Ref: LIBSERV/INTERN/SMT/841-2013.

The purpose of the Internship is to provide the Intern with an opportunity to learn and experience the UNISA Library. International and African Libraries to acquire work experience at a professional level through on-the-job training and be introduce into workplace of a library.

Requirements:

  • Must have completed undergraduate studies in Library and Information Science

OR

  • Busy with postgraduate studies in Library and Information Science
  • Must be a team player, to ask for help and cope with feedback and criticism
  • Must be currently unemployed
  • Must be available immediately once selected for the programme

 

Duties:

  • Circulation desk work
    • Cataloguing and classification
    • Collection development
    • Simple searches
    • User training
    • Marketing
    • Requests services
    • Acquisition

Assumption of duty      :           As soon as possible

Salary                          :           R6 000.00 per month
