Nampak Tissue Bursaries 2014

Nampak Tissue invites applications from young South Africans who are interested in studying towards a National Diploma in Pulp and Paper Technology at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) for a period of 3-years starting in January 2014. Bursars will also be required to work on vacations and do in-services training with Nampak Tissue at its tissue making mills. Pulp and Paper Technology is a specialised field of chemical engineering.

What are the requirements?

To be considered for this bursary, applicants have to meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Be a South African citizen;
  • Have a Grade 12/Matric certificate;
  • Having passed Grade 12 with both Mathematics (NOT Maths Literacy) and Physical Science passed with at least C-symbol on Higher Grade or A-symbol on Standard Grade. OR Level 5 pass in both subjects on NSC;
  • You must be a hard worker;
  • Have technical and analytical ability;
  • Be able to achieve high academic results;
  • Be prepared to work shifts in a production environment (both during the duration of studies and after completion).

What does this bursary cover?

This bursary will pay for:

  • Your tuition fee (including registration fees), food, accommodation and books;
  • You will also be paid a monthly stipend.

You will also have the opportunity to work during university breaks (holidays) at Nampak Tissue’s tissue making mills during your 1st and 2nd year of studies. In your final year, you will have the opportunity of doing an in-service training with Nampak Tissue.
