Intern: Website Coordinator | University of Limpopo

The University of Limpopo is inviting unemployed graduates in communication, media studies, or public relations to apply for the internship opportunity of Website Coordinator within its 2014 internship programme. Interns  will be based at the University’s Turfloop Campus, Mankweng and will receive a monthly stipend for the duration of the internship.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication/Media/Public Relations/ National Diploma in Public Relations Management or any other qualification in Website Communication.
  • Knowledge of using internet web searching tools/engines.
  • Ability to work within short deadlines and produce quickly.
  • Strong writing, editing, research and general communication skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to take initiative and to work independently with a minimum supervision
  • Ability to work within a diverse multicultural team.
  • Ability to exploit new innovative ideas and implement the growth of the website strategies.
  • Ability to keep up with current trends in marketing techniques including social media networking strategies.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate specific communications related to the website.
  • Prioritise website posting submission to ensure timeliness and review web submissions to ensure consistent formatting.
  • Ensure that contents are grammatically correct before web posting.
  • Monitor and evaluate website usage.
  • Conduct a research for new website developments.
  • Train interns on how to manage, coordinate and write for the website.
  • Periodically record and report data about website usage and developments.
  • Be able to write for the website.
  • Be creative and have innovative ideas to implement the look and feel of the website.

Closing date: 11 April 2014

Applicants who have already participated in any Internship Programme will not be considered and if it is found that this was the case after appointment, the participation(s) will be terminated with immediate effect.
