The national departments of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) are inviting applications for their 2014 / 2015 Internship Programme from young unemployed South African graduates. Interns will be based in various programmes, depending on their academic area of specialisation, including the following: Human Resources (HR), Public Administration, Public Relations (PR), Law, Communication, Economics, Financial Management, Local Government, Information and Records Management, Disaster Management, Cost Accounting, Information Science, and Information Technology.

This internship programme will run for a period of 12-months and interns will be paid a minimum monthly stipend of R4 333.70 for the duration of the internship programme. Interns will be based at the officers of the departments of Cooperate Governance and Traditional Affairs.

What are the requirements?

In addition to the qualification requirements listed in the last point, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Be an unemployed South African graduate;
  • Must have never taken part in an internship programme (whether in government or private sector);
  • A qualification from a Higher Education Institution (university, university of technology, or private university) in any of the following fields:

o   Human Resources (HR),

o   Public Administration,

o   Public Relations (PR) and Communication,

o   Law,

o   Economics,

o   Financial Management,

o   Local Government,

o   Information and Records Management,

o   Disaster Management, Cost Accounting,

o   Information Science, and

o   Information Technology.
