NMISA Gas Analysis Internships

The National Metrology Institute of South Africa (NMISA) is inviting applications for its Gas Analysis internships. The internships will be based at NMISA’s Gas Analysis Laboratory in the Tshwane Metropolitan Area. Applications are invited from South African graduates with degrees in Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry, who also possess computer literacy skills.

What are the requirements?

Candidates are required to meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Have Bachelor Science (BSc) degree in Chemistry or a Baccalaureus Technologiae (BTech) degree in Analytical Chemistry; or higher qualification;
  • Be computer literate in Microsoft Office, particularly in the MS Excel application;
  • Have technical knowledge of the following:

o   Spectroscopic methods,

o   Gas chromatography together with other detectors,

o   Technical knowledge of various analytical quantification procedures, such as instrument calibration using external/internal standards.
