Recruitment of Chemistry Postgraduates 2016 | University of the Western Cape / PetroSA

Editor

The PetroSA Synthetic Fuels innovation Centre (PSFIC) represents a new type of partnership between Universities and industry in South Africa. PetroSA has relocated a significant part of its R&D effort in gas to liquid (GTL) processing to the SAIAMC at University of the Western Cape (UWC), namely its conversion of olefins to distillate (COD) pilot plant and associated activities.

The main research thrust is directed towards the development of new catalysts to improve COD efficiency and to utilise new feed stocks The PSFIC project was launched in 2010 and has recently received further support from PetroSA hence the University of the Western Cape is seeking to recruit an additional group of high calibre MSc and PhD students with chemical engineering or chemistry degrees who are motivated to carry out COD related research projects.
