The University of Cape Town’s Communication and Marketing Department is inviting applications for its Media Intern vacant position. The media intern will assist the UCT’s media liaison team on a full-time or flexible hours basis, as will be discussed. This position offers a remuneration package of between R97 688 and R173 405.
What are the requirements?
Here we provide a list of minimum requirements as provided by the UCT. Further requirements can be viewed on the UCT website, details of which will be provided below:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Arts, Humanities or Social Sciences, majoring in Journalism, MediaStudies, English or Sociology;

Well- honed data management and research skills;

Excellent command of the English language;

Good organisational and analytical skills;

More than competent in Microsoft Word and Excel;

Familiarity with current events and how they are presented in media;

Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills;
-
Literacy in a second SA language would be advantageous.
