The Free State Department of Rural Development and Land Reform (DRDLR) is inviting applications for its 12-months 2016/2017 Agricultural Graduates Programme internships from unemployment Free State graduates with a Degree in Agriculture specialising any of the following: Crop Production, Agricultural Economics OR Animal Production. Interns will be allocated to farms and projects in various districts of the Free State province, as such are applications are advised to apply for positions closer to where they live.

What are the requirements?

In order to be considered, candidates should meet the following requirements and the qualification requirements in the table below:

  • Have project and programme management skills;
  • Have training in research methodology;
  • Facilitation, communication and report writing skills;
  • Presentation, liaison, and interpersonal skills;
  • Be computer literate; and
  • Be willing to travel and work extended hours.

Note: Preference will be given to candidates from within the local municipalities where the positions are advertised; for animal production candidates with Poultry subjects will be preferred, whereas for crop production preference will be given to graduates with vegetables or hydroponics subjects.
