Jacaranda FM has a highly exciting opportunity available! We are searching for (two) news interns to join our vibrant and dynamic news team. It is a 12-month internship programme based at our Midrand offices in Gauteng, effective October 2016 to September 2017. A basic monthly stipend will be paid for the duration of the programme.
As part of the internship you will be exposed to the following:
- Assist in various areas of the news department, thereby learning the pratical skills involved.
- Learn to write/ read news stories.
- Assist in the general operations of a newsroom.
- Gain the necessary hours for graduation.
- Assist journalists in the compilation of their stories.
- Report from the field as well as wok on the news desk.
What are the requirements?
- Diploma/ degree in journalism OR relevant work experience/ studying towards a diploma or a degree.
- Preferably bilingual in Afrikaans and English.
- Valid drivers licence or in the process of getting one.
- Exceptional writing skills.
- Broad general knowledge and general computer literacy.
