Intel SA – Government and Policy Analyst Internship

The successful candidate will be joining Intel SA’s Governments, Markets and Trade division and will be primarily supporting the team in the areas of government relations and policy development in Sub-Sahara, Africa.

To get into more details, the duties and responsibilities of the internship are as follows:

  • Monitor developments in the country’s legislation
  • Represent Intel SA on policy, regulatory and legislative matters in key African countries, external factors, relevant African institutions, non-governmental organizations and trade associations

The selected intern will be reporting directly to the Intel SA’s Government and Policy Director and will be receiving instructions from other Policy Directors if needed.

What are the requirements?

The ideal candidate must be able to meet the minimum requirements below in order to be considered for this internship opportunity:

  • Must be a university degree holder, preferably in Law, Economics, Political Science or Public Policy
  • Knowledgeable in policies and legislations that are highly relevant to the tech sector (preferably in policies about privacy and security or digital trade)
  • Solid analytical, written and oral communication skills
  • Able to recommend complex policy and technical issues
  • Some background or experience working with institutions, legislative processes, government relations and policies in African states
  • Comfortable and highly adaptable working in a multi-functional capacity within a fast-paced, international office setting
  • Advanced level of spoken and written English is key, and fluency in another language e.g French is a definite advantage
