The Department of Transport and Public Works, Western Cape Government has a training and development opportunity for Fitter and Turner apprenticeship at the apprentice training school and at a technical college under the supervision of an artisan. The successful incumbent must be in good health with the ability to perform physically demanding tasks. This position is based in Bellville, Cape Town.

What are the requirements?

A Technical Matric Certificate or (N stream) with Mathematics and Science as passed subjects; Candidates must be under the ages of 21 years.

Added advantage: Exposure to: Fitting and turning theory and/or Graphics and design; Valid driving licence.

To apply manually please complete an application form (Z 83) and current CV (5 pages maximum) together with certified copies of ID, Academic qualifications and proof of other requirements as indicated in the advertisement.

The post being applied for and the reference number must be clearly indicated on the Z83 application form.

Applicants from relevant local communities will receive preference. Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit copies of their documentation for verification purposes. These candidates will be required to attend interviews on a date and time as determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency test. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
