2013 GSK Junior Financial Analyst Learnership

GlaxoSmithKline, a “science-led global healthcare company that researches and develops a broad range of innovative medicines and brands”, is inviting applications into its learnership programme for a junior financial analyst.

Purpose

Provide a financial control, accounting, reporting, measurement and analytical service for the Cx business within the Finance department.
To ensure financial controls and systems are maintained on a monthly basis.
Performing month-end procedures and ensuring month-end deadlines are met.

Key responsibilities

โ€ขPreparing month-end journals and ensuring these are processed within the required month-end timetable.
โ€ขPreparing and communicating daily/ weekly sales report by brand and customer to the Cx commercial business.
โ€ขPreparing brand P&Lโ€™s
โ€ขPreparing customer P&Lโ€™s
โ€ขPreparing and communicating to budget holders monthly overheads report of actuals vs budgets.
โ€ขPreparing monthly sales reports for gross and net sales
โ€ขPreparing monthly yield trackers and price volume analysis.
โ€ขConsolidating monthly sales forecasts done by the sales team.
โ€ขPerform monthly Balance sheet reconciliations.
โ€ขAd-hoc requests and assistance with quarterly requests.
โ€ขReleasing of supplier payments.
โ€ขMaintenance of knowledge documents and SOPโ€™s.
โ€ขSupport to the Finance Manager on a daily basis in assistance to the sales team.
โ€ขAssistance to the Finance Manager with annual budget preparations, monthly forecasts, internal plan compilations and assistance with the management thereof.

Qualification/Experience

โ€ขStudying towards B.Com, Financial Management or Accounting
โ€ขJD Edwards (Not critical)
โ€ขMicrosoft Office Suite including excel, word and PowerPoint
โ€ขAdvanced excel knowledge essential

Must be studying part time in 2012
