Finsch Diamond Mine 2013 Experiential Training: Undergraduates (Mining)

Finsch Diamond Mine is situated in the town of Lime Acres, 165km west of Kimberley in the Northern Cape.

The mine is currently mining at a depth of 630 meters using mechanised trackless block-cave mining.

Candidates who are interested in a career in the mining sector and currently studying towards a National Diploma are invited to apply for experiential learning in the following field:

Mining Engineering (P1 and P2)
Required documents:
  • Curriculum Vitae.
  • Completed application form.
  • Academic results of studies conducted to date
  • A guideline from the tertiary institution on projects and outcomes for experiential training as well as period of training required.
Other required skills and competencies:
  • Good communication and sound interpersonal skills�
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Show initiative.
  • Self-motivated�
  • South African citizenship.
  • Successful completion of theoretical Mining Engineering studies.
  • Valid Code 08 driver’s licence would be an advantage.
Please note: Preference will be given to Petra Diamond SA (Ply) Ltd bursars, children of employees, and candidates with completed Mechanical Engineering studies.
