Independent Newspapers KwaZulu-Natal invites applications from graduates and 3rd year journalism students who are interested in serving as journalism interns. This is an exciting opportunity to gain first-hand experience in journalism. The incumbents will be required to work for our various titles from 01 July 2013 – 31 December 2013.
Selection criteria
- Be graduates or 3rd year journalism students
- Be computer literate.
- Have good language skills and be able to write well
- Be addicted to news and have a good general knowledge
- Be passionate about journalism and teamwork
- Be prepared to work irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Have excellent organisational skills.
- Be able to work under constant deadline pressure.
- Have an inquiring mind
- Be creative and show initiative
Preferred Competency
- Have a driver’s licence
- Short-listed candidates will go through an assessment test and thereafter an interview. Successful candidates will need to be available and committed for the
- period of the internship (01 July – 31 Dec 2013).
