The ICT department at the Perishable Product Export Control Board (PPECB) is inviting applications for an IT(BI Data Analyst) Graduate Intern position that is currently available.
The successful candidate will receive a monthly stipend of R3,500 for the 12-month internship period.
The successful candidate will report to the BI Data Analyst and will gain experience while assisting in the following functions:
- Design and build basic crystal reports based on the business requirements
- Analyse, model, design and test data warehouse and business Intelligence components
- Develop basic SQL queries and stored procedures for MS SQL databases.
- Working closely with BI Data Analysts and technology team to ensure the success of the deliverables
- Will generate report in relational database and dimensional modelling and ETL Design tools
- Documents reporting processes, code, requirements and maintains compliance and governance procedures
- Defining and implementing work flows for updating and loading spreadsheet based data
- Providing small to medium enhancements to custom BI related software systems
- Troubleshooting BI tools, systems, and software
- Improving existing work flows to single source data, and to make the data accessible within the BI environment
- Participate in testing and quality control of Ad Hoc information
- Provide end-users with second level support for reporting issues
- Understand and follow the Change Management Process
- Integrate reporting tools and other technologies with other key enterprise business applications.
- Writing technical specification documents
- Check InfoDesk emails and maintain the email box
- Develop as requested by the DBA or/and Data Analyst documentation for the Business Intelligence processes.
- Assist the DBA or/and BI Data Analyst with project documentation and any other tasks allocated
- Flexibility to take on varied development responsibilities including business analysis, ETL, and data migration
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Requirements:
- Degree in Information Systems or 3 Year Diploma in Information Technology
- Knowledge of basic Microsoft Excel and SQL development
- Basic understanding of Database architecture and design
- Design and Implement BI Solutions
- Understanding of business finance would be an advantage
- Valid driver`s license/ learners will be an added advantage
