PPECB Information Technology (Application Analyst) Internship

The Perishable Product Export Control Board (PPECB) is inviting applications from IT Graduates in South Africa for an internship opportunity in its Information Communications and Technology Department. The successful candidate will assume the position of IT Graduate Intern (Application Analyst) for a period of 12 months and receive a monthly stipend of R3,500.

The successful candidate for the position of IT Graduate Intern (Application Analyst) will be exposed and assist to facilitate information service requirements, regarding technical and operational capabilities, of all internal and external users.

This exciting position reporting to the IT Application Analyst, requires the successful candidate to:

  • Respond to all Help Desk calls by phone and email
  • Direct desktop support to all the users
  • Remote desktop support to satellite offices via telephone and/or remote desktop software
  • Provide hardware support for PC builds & cabling
  • Software Support including installation and set up of the following:
  • Microsoft Windows 7,Microsoft Office,Microsoft Exchange
  • Administration & Account set up of the following:
  • Do basic Active Directory tasks as allocated by the team, and check backup statuses for failure and report any failures to team members.
  • Attend to customer queries and provide support to any technical related issues
  • Support IT infrastructure (Server & Desktop)
  • Troubleshooting network related issues
  • Ensure various PC and Laptops installations completed timeously
  • Keep Supervisor informed of progress of deliverables
  • Carry out maintenance, on timely basis and ensure SLA’s are met
  • Keep the IT Asset register updated and keep the documentation updated and complete

Requirements:

  • To qualify, we require a candidates with a Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or Information Systems
  • Drivers Licence is essential
  • Understanding and knowledge of Windows application and supporting software and hardware and their interaction
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows Vista and above
  • Microsoft Office, have advanced skills in Excel & Word.
  • Basic understanding of the TCP/IP networking and LAN troubleshooting.
  • Excellent team player and good communication skills.
  • National Diploma Information Technology
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2003, 2007, 2010 environment
  • Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server, SQL Server environment
  • Basic Networking knowledge, and Installation and configuration of 3G devices
  • Installation of ADSL Routers and Wireless Access Points

PPECB is a national public entity constituted and mandated in terms of the PPEC Act, No. 9 of 1983 to perform cold chain services. PPECB also delivers inspection and food safety services as mandated by the Department of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries, under the APS Act, No. 119 of 1990
