Anglo American is inviting applications for learnerships at the Anglo American Greenside Colliery. The learnership will focus on engineering disciplines in the colliery, incliding Fitter, Electrician and Instrumentation Mechanician.
The requirements for applying to the learnership:
You have to meet the following requirements in order order to be considered for the learnership:
- You have to have an N2/N3 Technical qualification with the following subjects:
- for those interested in the fitter learnership, you must have Machining Trade theory, Science, Engineering Drawing, Fitting and Maths
- for those interested in the Electrician learnership the following subjects are required: Industrial electronics or Electro-technology/ Electrical Trade Theory, Maths and Science
- and for Instrumentation Mechanician the following subjects are required: Industrial electronics, Instrumentation Mechanician Trade Theory, Maths and Science
- Be fit (medically) and be in possession of a valid Certificate of Fitness.
- A valid drivers license with no endorsements
- Be willing and able to work shifts, be on standby and respond to call outs when required
A minimum of 1 year’s experience in the underground mining environment will be an advantage
How to apply?
Application forms can be obtained from Greenside Colliery ER Officers and the HR Officer. The forms together with a CV and certified copies of qualifications and ID must be submitted to the ER Officers or the HR officer at Greenside Colliery before 5pm on 2 August 2013.
Candidates will undergo a psychometric assessment. Only shortlisted candidates will be interviewed.
