Internship Programme 2014 / 2015 | Presidency of South Africa

The Office of President Jacob Zuma invites applications for its 2014/2015 internship programme. Consideration will be given to applications from unemployed South Africans with a National Diploma or degree in a relevant field of study. Interns will be placed in various operational and support areas within The Presidency, mostly in Pretoria – a few internship positions will be based in Cape Town (see table below). Interns will be paid a monthly stipend of R4 000. Successful candidates will sign internship contracts for a twelve (12) months period from April 2014 until March 2015.

Requirements: Applicants must be graduates in any of the fields listed above or undergraduate students where internship is a perquisite to obtain their formal qualification. Applications must be submitted on a Z83 form (CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD), obtainable from any Public Service Department, stating the field to which the Intern is applying from the above list, a CV together with certified copies of certificates, transcripts and a letter from the institution for the undergraduates as well as Identity Document. Failure to submit required documents will result in the application not being considered.

A pre-employment security screening will be conducted on candidates relating to RSA citizenship, criminal record, credit record and verification of qualification. The outcome of this screening will be considered to determine suitability for employment.

Who should apply?

Unemployed South African graduates/postgraduates, with a tertiary qualification in one of the above-mentioned fields of study, who has not been previously employed under any internship programme.

Note: These internships (with the exception of the last 3) are based in Pretoria. Candidates must be willing and able to find their own accommodation in Pretoria, considering that they will not earn a salary but only a stipend.
