Nampak Tissue Production Graduate Trainee Opportunities

South African tissue manufacturer Nampak Tissue is inviting applications from South Africans with either an an N5, OR N6, OR Diploma OR B.Tech qualification in Mechanical Engineering. Successful candidates will be placed at Nampak Tissue in Bellville, Western Cape for a period of three (3) years. Trainees will be paid a stipend for the duration of the contract. There are six (6) positions available. The trainees will report to the Technical Trainer.

What are the requirements?

To be considered for one of these trainee opportunities you have to meet the following minimum requirements:

  • You must have completed a Mechanical Engineering qualification at any of the following levels:
    • N5
    • N6
    • Diploma
    • B.Tech
  • Be supportive of safety standards
  • Be willing to work shifts and overtime, as and when required
  • Be a good problem solver
  • Be analytical
  • Be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Have good interpersonal

Successful candidates will be trained as follows:

  • Assessments for competence at a modular level on all converting machinery.

  • Safe operation of all converting machinery and associated services equipment. e.g. compressors, air driers

  • Process training on the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting of all converting machinery viz: corewinders, rewinders and associated packaging equipment

  • Quality training related to a converting environment

  • Basic handtools training as required for a Fitter and Turner artisan qualification
