The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs’ municipal support agency, the Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent (MISA), is inviting applications for its 12-months long internship programme. Applications are invited from candidates with a minimum of a three-year degree or diploma or an N6 qualification in: Communication, Administration, Finance, Information Technology, and Supply Chain Management among others. Interns will be contracted for 12-months and will receive a monthly stipend for the duration of the programme.
What are the requirements?
To be considered, applicants must ensure that their qualifications align with the areas of exposure in the table below and meet the following criteria:
- Be unemployed young (between 18 and 35 years old) South Africans;
- Have a degree or diploma or N6 qualification relevant to any of the areas of exposure in the table below;
- Must have never participated in a public sector internship before.

How to apply?
To apply for this internship candidates my make their application on a Z83 Form (download by clicking here or go fetch one at a government office near you), which must be accompanied by their detailed CV – with 3 references – and certified copies of qualifications and ID that are not older than 3 months. [Hint: on the Z83 Form under “Position for which you are applying (as advertised)” write Internship and the area of exposure relevant to your qualification (e.g. Internship: Communications) and under “Reference number (as stated in the advert)” write the reference number that corresponds with the area of exposure relevant tour qualification (see table above) and under “Department where the position was advertised” write Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent (MISA).
