Premier Foods, the owner of the Blue Ribbon bread brand, Snowflake, SuperSun, Lil-Lets and several of other South African household names, is inviting applications for Milling Apprenticeship opportunities to be based at their operations in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. Applications are invited from South African citizens with a Grade 12/Matric qualification. A monthly stipend will be paid and the apprenticeship will run for a period of two and a half years (30 months) starting in 2015.
What are the requirements for this apprenticeship?
You need to meet this criteria in order to be considered for the Premier Foods Milling Apprenticeship:
- Have a Grade 12 qualification;
- Have Mathematics and Physical Science as passed Matric subjects.
What will I be doing at Premier Foods should I be successful?
As part of the learnership, you will be trained practically (on-the-job) and theoretically (classroom). You will be reporting to the production manager of Durban Mill, and you will also be assigned shift millers and a mentor who will enure that you are given on the job training through delegating some responsibilities.
Premier Foods requires that you pass your apprenticeship exams and progress questions with 65% or more and 75% or more respectively; therefore you must be a hard worker.
