Founded in 1985 by a group of journalists from then recently closed Rand Daily Mail and Sunday Express newspapers, the Mail & Guardian (M&G) has grown to be one of South Africa’s authorities on investigative reporting and political news. The M&G is inviting applications from unemployed graduates for its 2016 editorial / newsroom internships which will be based within their Rosebank, Johannesburg offices. This internships are open to graduates in fields such as journalism, languages, media studies, and liberal arts, graphic design, sound and video production, website development or other related fields. Interns will be paid a monthly stipend of R10,000.
You will be given training and afforded an opportunity to gain experience in all facets of “editorial production, from copyediting, proofreading, page layout and design to site uploading and management, SEO headline writing and basic HTML, and picture, video and audio editing,” according to the M&G Online.

To be considered for this opportunity, you have to meet the following requirements:
- Have a tertiary qualification in: journalism, languages, media studies, and liberal arts, graphic design, sound and video production, website development or other related fields.
