SA Military Health Services Training & Bursaries 2017

The South African National Defence Force’s South African Military Health Services (SAMHS) is inviting applications to its 2016 training and bursary opportunities from young unemployed South Africans with a Matric certificate or learners currently in Grade 12. The training opportunities are available in the following areas: Animal Health General Training, Chemical Biology Radiation Defence (CBRD), Physical Training Instructors (PTSR), and Patient Administration.

Following the training in any of the above, plus two year training in Military Skills Development System (MSDS) you will be considered for study opportunities in any of the following qualifications (this is not guaranteed as you will be subjected to further assessment and selection processes): MBCHB (Medicine), Nursing Diploma, Veterinary Science (Veterinary Surgeon), and Pharmacy Assistant (these opportunities are subject to availability and further subject / marks requirements see the application form below).

What are the requirements?

  • Be a South African citizen;
  • If you are currently in Matric or have only a Matric, you must be 23 years old or below;
  • If you have completed a tertiary qualification, your must be 25 years old or below;
  • Be willing to under go basic military training (6 months) and functional training;
  • Be willing to serve in uniform in and outside South Africa;
  • Have NO criminal record or pending case;
  • Willing to comply with the SANDF’s health assessment requirements;
  • Be willing to relocate and not be bound to a specific area;
  • Subscribe to the Military Code of Conduct.
