South African chemical and explosives producer, African Explosives and Chemical Industries Limited (AECI), is inviting applications for their 2016 Apprenticeships to be based at their operations on Umbogintwini in KwaZulu-Natal from unemployed South Africans with a Grade 12 / Matric certificate. This is a full-trade training which will ensure that the apprentice qualifies as an artisan in one these various fields on successful completion: Electrician, Fitter, Instrument, Boiler or Welder. These apprenticeship are supported by the Chemical Industries Education and Training Authority (CHIETA). Apprentices will receive a monthly allowance for the duration of the apprenticeship.
What are the requirements?
In order to be considered, applicants have to meet the following requirements:
- Be a South Africa;
- Must have passed Grade 12 / Matric; and
- As part of the application process, you will have to take and pass an aptitude test.
Which apprentice opportunities will I be placed in?
AECI will place applicants in any of the following apprenticeships:
- Electrical (1 apprentice);
- Fitters (3 apprentices);
- Boilers (1 apprentice);
- Welders (1 apprentice); and
- Instrumentation (2 apprentices).
