NMISA 2017 Bursaries (science & engineering-related fields)

The National Metrology Institute of South Africa (NMISA) is inviting applications from current Matric learners, South African with a Matric certificate, as well as current students or prospective students in both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of study in specific science and engineering related fields to apply for their 2017 Bursaries. The bursaries are open to full-time students in any of the following subjects: Engineering (Electrical/ Electronic, Mechanical), Materials Science, Physics and Chemistry.

What are the requirements?

The requirements differ, depending on which level of education you have completed or are currently completing:

  • For current Grade 12 / Matric learners:
    • Must be planning to study towards a tertiary qualification in any of the following: Engineering (Electrical/ Electronic, Mechanical), Materials Science, Physics or Chemistry;
    • Be a South African citizen; and
    • Be able to provide Grade 11 results and a Grade 12 progress report.
  • For school-leavers with a completed Grade 12 certificate:
    • Must be planning to study towards a tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic), Physics or Materials Science;
    • Be a South African; and
    • Have a Grade 12 certificate passed with good marks.
  • For students already at tertiary:
    • Be a South African student studying towards a post graduate or undergraduate qualification in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or Physics.
