The Elias Motsoaledi Municipality in the Sekhukhune District of Limpopo is inviting applications for its 2016/2017 Finance Internships (Ref No.: HR01/800/13) from suitably qualified South African graduates with a BCom degree or a National Diploma in Accounting. Interns will rotate between finance-related divisions within the municipality. The internship contract is for a period of 24-months and will pay an annual stipend of R120 000 (about R10 000 monthly). Applications are invited from all South Africans, however preference will be first given to residents of Elias Motsoaledi Municipality.
What are the requirements?
In order to be considered, applicants have to meet the following minimum requirements:
- Be a young South African graduate with a BCom degree or a National Diploma in Accounting;
- Have above average computer skills;
- Be willing to rate between finance departments in the municipalities;
- Have good communication skills.
What will I be doing, if I get appointed?
Your duties will include: Preparing the annual budget in line with the IDP; coordinate budget input from the management team and capture the input into the financial management system; Preparing quarterly and monthly in-year reports to council and organs of state; Processing of expenditure claims and ensure the accuracy of transaction in line with accounting procedures and practices, ensure compliance with all legislative requirements; Reconciling of credit accounts and claims; execute cheque payments and activate the electronic payment system and payroll.
