The government department responsible for the development of South Africa’s economy, the Department of Economic Development, is inviting applications for its 2017 internship programme. This invitation to apply is extended to young South African citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 years. This internship programme is a twelve-months contract based at the Department of Economic Development in Pretoria, Tshwane, Gauteng. Interns will be paid a monthly stipend of R5 000 for the duration of the programme.

What are the requirements?

Field of Exposure Ref No. Three(3) Year National Diploma or Degree in any of the following
Auxiliary & Facilities Management EDD/2017/02 Facilities Management / Building Science / Transport Management / Public Management
Communication, Marketing, and Events Management EDD/2017/03 Communication / Public Relations / Journalism
Risk Management EDD/2017/05 Risk Management / Internal Audit

The following condition will apply: • Application should be unemployed graduates who are in possession of the relevant tertiary qualifications indicated above and are South African citizen • Applicants should have no previous work experience in relation to Educational requirements • Successful applicants will sign an Internship Agreement • Clearly indicate the relevant internship area and reference number of the internship they are interested in, in line with the indicated studies comprising their qualifications. If an applicant qualifies for more than one internship field, he/she may submit separate application for each field.

Application must be submitted on form Z83, obtainable from any Public Service Department or CLICK HERE NOW to download. The completed and signed forms Z83 should be accompanied by recently updated, comprehensive CV as well as certified copies of all qualification(s) and ID-documents. Should you be in possession of a foreign qualification, it must be accompanied by an evaluation certificate from South African qualification Authority (SAQA). Applicants who do not comply with the above-mentioned requirements, as well as applications received late, will not be considered. Failure to submit all the requested documents will results in the application not being considered.
