SARS 2017 Internships & Graduate Development Programme (Various, including TVET or Matric)

South Africa’s revenue collector, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) is inviting applications for its 2017 Internships and Graduate Development Programme from unemployed South Africans who have completed a matric/ Grade 12 or have completed or are completing a TVET qualification or are at other Higher Education Institutions in their final year and need to complete practical training (Internships). The Graduate Development Programme is open to graduates who have completed tertiary qualifications in various fields. There are 64 internship vacancies, as well as 150 Graduate Development Programme vacancies.

What are the requirements?

Depending on the programme you are applying for, you have to meet either of the following requirements to be considered:

Internship

Internships are work-based training programmes that offer trainees work experience. Interns are placed on a 24 month contract and receive a monthly stipend. SARS’s internships are aimed at matriculants and final year students at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), Further Education and Training (FET) Colleges.

Graduate Development Programme

The Graduate Programme places successful candidates within divisions of SARS to provide a combination of structured learning and workplace experience. Trainees are given a 24 – 36 month contract and receive a monthly stipend. At the end of the contract, trainees who meet SARS’s recruitment requirements and apply for an available vacancy may be placed in a permanent position.

The Graduate Programme is aimed at final year students at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) with various qualifications as well as unemployed graduates who wish to pursue a career in SARS. The qualification required will be specified in each job advertisement.
