Doctors Without Borders 2018 Internships (Various)

Doctors Without Borders, the health services non-governmental organisation founded in 1971, following the Biafran succession war that plagued Nigeria in the late 1960’s, is inviting application for internships within its South African offices from graduates in various fields of study (see below). The internships will be based at Doctors Without Borders offices in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

What are the requirements?

In order to be considered, candidates would have to meet the requirements of the specific internship they are applying for as per the details outlined below.

Online Communications Intern ·        Studies in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or similar field.

·        Good working knowledge of social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

·        Experience in managing social media accounts and interest in developing online communication & marketing tactics.

·        A strong interest in humanitarian issues.

·        Creative and flexible approach to work, and ability to work well within a team.

·        Proficiency in English, written and orally

·        Experience balancing short-term and long-term responsibilities and working quickly when necessary, and working in high-pressure and/or breaking-news situations

·        A desire to work collaboratively on projects and teach others what you know

Health Policy Advocacy Intern ·        Tertiary qualification already obtained (proof of qualification needed)

·        Preferably studying/studied Public Health, Development Studies, International Relations or Political Science, or with demonstrable interest in working in the Health Policy and Advocacy field.

Digital Data Intern ·        Degree or Diploma in Communications, Marketing or Data Sciences – must include some training on social media To get more details and to apply CLICK HERE
Data Intelligence Intern ·        Relevant Tertiary Qualification (proof of qualification to be provided on request);

·        Data analysis skills;

·        Familiarity with data visualisation tools;

·        Understanding of databases /database architectures;

·        Basic knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and another programming language Data Mining using MySQL;

·        Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Digital Design Intern ·        A higher certificate, national diploma or degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Digital Content or a related field.

·        Must be computer literate

·        Proficient in Adobe CC (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. After Effects, Audition and Premiere Pro a distinct advantage)
