Minopex 2019 Engineering Learnerships (Only Matric OR N2 OR NCV4 required)

Minopex is inviting applications for its 2019 engineering learnerships from unemployed South Africans with a Grade 12 certificate OR N2 certificate OR NCV4 qualification. The Engineering Learnership positions will be based at Minopex and its subsidiary sites

Job Description

The purpose of this position is to enable aspired Learners to be trained and developed in becoming qualified Engineering Artisans.

Requirements

•    Minimum Grade 12 with Maths & Science OR N2 / NCV Level 4 with relevant subjects:
o    Diesel Mechanic: Maths, Science, Engineering Drawing, Diesel Trade Theory
o    Electricians: Maths, Engineering Science, Industrial Electronics, Electrical Trade Theory
o    Fitter including Machining: Maths, Science, Fitter Trade Theory, Engineering Drawing
o    Plater Welder: Maths, Science, Plater Theory, Plating and Structural Steel Drawings
o    Rigger Ropesman: Maths, Science, Rigging Trade Theory, Engineering drawing
o    Instrument Mechanician: Maths, Science, Industrial Electronics, Instrument Trade Theory
o    Millwright: N6 / S4 Maths, Science, Fitter Trade Theory, Engineering Drawing, Industrial Electronics, Electrical Trade Theory

Duties and Responsibilities

•    Learners will be required to successfully complete a structured learnership training programme and must be prepared and willing to train and work in the training centre, metallurgical plants etc.
•    Learners will be subjected to work under the close supervision of Qualified Artisans

Skills Required

•    Applicants must be South African citizens
•    Work experience is not compulsory
•    Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
•    Able to work under pressure
•    Able to work as part of a team and individually
•    Technical acumen
•    A valid Driver’s Licence will be advantageous
•    Applicants will be required to undergo and pass a medical fitness, heat tolerance screening and any other assessment deemed necessary for the field of application
•    Candidates will also be required to undergo a psychometric assessment and panel interview for selection purposes
•    Candidates must be able to travel between Minopex sites for practical training purposes
