Motion Pictures Group People & Organization Intern, Corporate – Spring 2020
The Sony Pictures Entertainment Internship program offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. This Spring Internship is from January through end of May and all candidates must be able to work between 15-29 hours a week (flexible based on school schedule).
Under general supervision, the People & Organization (Human Resources) Intern facilitates critical human resource processes for the Motion Picture Group and provides assistance to P&O Business Partners.
The P&O Intern performs a wide range of duties within a framework set by the HR department to include confidential data request, reporting, operational, administrative and project support. This role is a great opportunity for someone passionate about furthering their HR career and gain more in-depth knowledge about HR policies and practices in the entertainment industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Providing project support to 4 BP (compensation, recruitment, learning and development, )
- Assist with process employee data changes such as; promotions, supervisor changes, terminations, contract submissions, compensation requests, opening job requisitions, etc.
- Assist with compensation analysis
- Organize job description for internal archives
- Assist with creation of spreadsheets in excel, may include pivot tables and V-Lookup for analysis
- Identify opportunities to improve and streamline HR administrative processes
- Coordinate small and large group meeting scheduling (manage calendars, set-up conference rooms, prepare materials, etc.)
- Light phones and scheduling
What are the requirements?
- Ability to work in Microsoft Word, Excel (critical), Outlook, PowerPoint, Workday, SharePoint
- Understand the importance of confidentiality and discretion
- Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills
- Must be detail-oriented
- Excellent communication skills – written and oral (must have a professional and courteous demeanour)
- Relevant education or experience in Human Resources
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area and enrolled in school
