SA Air Force Pilots, Navigators & Engineers 2021 Military Skills Development System

The South African Air Force is inviting applications from young South Africans with a Matric or in higher education studies to apply for training as Pilots, Navigators, Airspace Controller, and Engineers through its 2021 Military Skills Development System. The Military Skills Development System is a two-year voluntary service system with the long term goal of enhancing the SA National Defence Force’s deployment capability.

Successful MSDS candidates will be appointed in a specific mustering and will be called up to a Training Unit, where members will complete their Basic Military Training, specific mustering and functional training in the first year and be utilized or deployed in the second year of the MSDS.

What are the requirements?

  • 26 Years if in possession of a degree with Level – 4 Maths and Science
  • 18–24 Years – Completed Grade 12 or or Equivalent (University Entrance) Mathematics and Physical Science minimum Level – 4 (Essential);
  • English Level – 3 (Essential
  • N4 to N5 minimum-60%, N6 or 1st year University of Technology or University minimum–50%
  • RSA Citizen (No dual citizenship)
  • Preferrably single
  • Not Area Bound
  • No Criminal Record
  • Physically and Medically Fit
  • No Hearing Impairment (No hearing aid)
  • Have 6/6-eye vision (No contact lenses or corrective lenses or surgery)

ENGINEERS REQUIREMENTS

  • 18–22 Years – Completed Grade 12 or NSC or Equivalent (University Entrance)
  • Mathematics and Physical Science minimum Level-6 (Essential)
  • English Level-5 (Essential)
  • University Admission Point Score (APS) of 35

Submit the filled in application form together with the following:

  • Attach Certified Identity Document and CV with Qualifications.
  • Statements of symbols for matriculants of 2018 and before will not be accepted.
  • Applicants in position of the National N-Diploma (N6) all copies of the qualification must be attached.

Admission point score (APS) of 17, (excluding Life Orientation). Applicant must not have visible Tattoos (lower Arm, Neck and Face)
