The Eastern Cape Department of Health is inviting applications for their Pharmacy Internships (47 Pharmacist Intern positions) from final year South African Pharmacy Students (Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) Year Four). The internships are based across hospitals in the following four districts of the Eastern Cape: Buffalo City, OR Tambo, Chris Hani, and Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Municipality (see list below).
What are the requirements?
- Be a South African student in their Fourth/Final Year of study towards a BPharm degree;
- Be registered as a Pharmacy Student with the South African Pharmacy Council;
- ADVANTAGE: Please note that preference will be given to Eastern Cape Department of Health bursary holders.

- A motivational letter for Hospital Pharmacy;
- Detailed CV;
- Certified copies of the following:
- ID Document / Passport;
- Grade 12/Matric certificate;
- Transcript of Academic Record;
- SAPC Registration Certificate (Pharmacy Student);
- Proof of Registration at University for the 2020 academic year;
- Proof of Residence
Due to the COVID pandemic and Level 4 Regulations gazetted by the National Government, the Eastern Cape of Department will allow applications for Pharmacy Internship to be directed via hand delivery to the relevant Centre or emailed to: [email protected].
