The Gauteng Department of Education (GDoE) is inviting applications from unemployed graduates in any field who are Gauteng residents and between the ages of 18 and 35 years for its COVID-19 Brigades Programme. A stipend will be paid to the appointed brigades.
The COVID-19 Brigades Programme is part of the Gauteng Department of Education’s overall plan to involve youth in limiting community transmission and outbreaks within the education sector.
The COVID-19 Brigades will be placed in schools and government buildings to assist the GDoE with the following:
- Daily screening of staff members and learners;
- Data capturing; and
- Monitoring compliance to COVID-19 regulations such as social distancing and sanitising.
What are the requirements?
- Be a graduate with any degree or diploma from a recognised institution of higher learning;
- Be a resident of Gauteng.
Brigades will be trained by the Gauteng City Region Academy facilitators on how to enforce Occupational Health and Safety requirements and precautionary measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.
