SA Air Force 2022 General Military Skills Development System

The South African Air Force (SAAF) is inviting applications from unemployed young South Africans for its 2022 General Military Skills Development System. The SAAF is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer. The candidature of persons, whose appointment will promote representivity, will receive preference.

Successful candidates will undergo full time training for two-years, during which, they will receive military and further functional training. The SA Air Force intends to capacitate the candidates to be highly skilled and disciplined military professionals and patriotic citizens.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 18–22 Years (1999 – 2003) -Completed Grade 12 or N3 with 6 subjects including two languages
  • 22–26 (1995 – 2002) Years if in possession of a 3 year Tertiary qualification (Degree, National Diploma or N6 with N4 and N5 prescripts)
  • RSA Citizen (no dual citizenship)
  • Preferably Single
  • Not Area Bound
  • No Criminal Record
  • Comply with medical fitness requirements for appointment in the SANDF

The general SA Air Force Military Skills Development System training is available in these careers:

  • Communications and Flight Operations Management (Level 4 Mathematics Essential)
  • Fire fighting (Level 3 Mathematics and Physical Science Essential)
  • Human Resources Clerk (Grade 12)
  • Material Support Clerk (Admin) (Grade 12)
  • Material Support Clerk (Supply) (Grade 12)
  • Hospitality Services (Grade 12)
  • Material Support Clerk (Technical), (Mathematics Essential)
  • Protection Services (Physical Training Instructor, VIP Protection, Entrance Controllers, and Dog Handlers) (Grade 12)
