SANSA 2021 Internships (Various)

South African National Space Agency (SANSA) has the following Internship opportunities in the Space Science Directorate situated in Hermanus, Western Cape for enthusiastic, hardworking South African citizens from the Western Cape in the following areas of specialisation or disciplines:

  1. Human Resources:

Duties(Not limited to this): *Prepare and maintain employment records related to events such as appointments, terminations, leave, transfers, promotions, etc. using SAP โ€ขEnsure proper maintenance of records and easy retrieval of documents as and when required โ€ขPerform all administrative and transactional services โ€ขAdminister the recruitment service from advertisement to appointment โ€ขEnsure proper record tracking system โ€ขExamine employee files to answer enquires and provide information for personnel actions โ€ขOrganize meetings and events โ€ขRun reports on SAP and prepare various documents accurately, timeously and in accordance with the specific needs to which the documents are required.
Requirements:
Degree in Human Resource Management, or BTech in HR related field


2. ICT:

Duties (not limited to this): *Provide desktop support to users โ€ข Installation/upgrade of computers โ€ขMaintenance of network infrastructure โ€ขAssist with network cabling and server cabinet wiring โ€ขInventory of ICT store rooms โ€ขBasic network administration on Microsoft Windows and Linux-based servers โ€ขDocumenting of network services and infrastructure โ€ขOpportunity for development of additional programming skills

Requirements: National Diploma / Degree in Information Systems


3. Finances:

Duties (not limited to this): *Filing of SCM, finance and administrative documentation โ€ขadministrative tasks โ€ขswitchboard duties โ€ขassist with stock taking โ€ขphysical asset verification and maintenance of asset database โ€ข transactional processing on SAGE X3 โ€ขarchiving of SCM, finance and administrative documentation โ€ขassist with administration and preparation for on-site conferences and meetings
Requirements: National Diploma/Degree in Finance, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration


4. Communication:

Duties(Not limited to this): *Execution of a Public Relations plan โ€ข SANSA: Space Scienceโ€™s media liaison and monitoring โ€ข Writing and editing of organisational and promotional materialโ€ข Collateral and branding โ€ขEventsโ€ข Internal communicationโ€ข Website contentโ€ข Organise meetings and events โ€ข Stakeholder engagement
Requirements: BA degree (Communication) or Public Relations Diploma (three-year course at tertiary education institute); Proven language (English) proficiency and writing and editing skills; Understanding and ability to proactively utilise latest communication trends and channels

ELIGIBILITY FOR APPOINTMENT OF ALL INTERNS

The minimum requirements for placement of intern candidates are as follows:

  • Should be 35 years of age or younger at the time of submitting an application;
  • Be a South African citizen or South African Permanent Resident (with a valid South African Identity Document).
  • Willing to live in Hermanus, Western Cape for the entire duration of their internship.

Interns will receive a stipend and additional soft skills training from the Innovation Hub.
