]]>The NCPC-SA’s Internship Programme offers undergraduate and postgraduate students, in the field of engineering disciplines, the opportunity to become part of this initiative and programme and gain valuable in-plant experience by assisting companies in addressing competitiveness challenges, production improvement opportunities and skills gaps. NCPC-SA Interns are equipped with valuable ‘green skills’ that will contribute to their future employability in industry.
Interns will be appointed by the CSIR and placed with selected companies from the automotive, chemicals, metals processing, as well as pulp and paper sectors for a period of six (6) months. They will undergo a comprehensive induction training programme prior to placement with the selected companies to sensitise them to the key elements related to energy, materials and water optimisation, as well as minimisation of waste. A qualified mentor will be assigned to support the group of successful applicants. Commencement date for the Internship program will be 01 July 2014. These positions will be based in Cape Town and KwaZulu-Natal.
