Are you an unemployed graduate with a degree, diploma or honours degree? Are you looking for an internship to gain practical experience while you earn? The office of President Jacob Zuma is inviting applications from people like yourself for its 2015 / 2016 internship programme. The internship programme will begin on 1 April 2014 and 31 March 2016. Interns will be paid a monthly stipend of R4,500.00 for the duration of the internship programme.

Internship opportunities are available in various Presidency directorates and offices in Pretoria, Gauteng and Cape Town, Western Cape. Only applications from South African citizens will be considered. People who have previously participated in a paid internship programme should not apply. Qualification requirements are listed in the table below, information on how to apply can be found below the table.

Private Office of the President: Special Projects Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/ Degree in Public Administration/ Public Policy/ Social Sciences. General administrative duties related to special projects. 3
Office of the Deputy President: Deputy Director-General Applicants must be in possession of an Honours Degree in Economics. Conduct secondary data analysis and literature based research on social, economic, political and related matters and synthesized information for policy briefs.Prepare background papers and briefs to the advisors and senior managers. Conduct additional background research to inform policy articulation or review. Provide content and operational support to the advisory support services unit. 4
Office of the Deputy President: Strategy & Special Projects Applicants must be in possession of an Honours Degree in Statistics. Conduct secondary data analysis and literature based research on social, economic, political and related matters and synthesised information for policy briefs. Prepare background papers and briefs to the advisors and senior managers. Conduct additional background research to inform policy articulation or review. Provide content and operational support to the advisory support services unit. 5
Office of the Deputy President: Personal & Advisory Support Services Applicants must be in possession of an Honours Degree in Development Studies. Conduct secondary data analysis and literature based research on social, economic, political and related matters and synthesised information for policy briefs. Office of the Deputy President: Communications Applicants must be in possession of an Honours Degree in Political Studies. Conduct secondary data analysis and literature based research on social, economic, political and related matters and synthesized information for policy briefs. Provide content and operational support to the advisory support services. 7
Corporate Information Management: Internal Communications Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/Degree in Communications. Original copy writing and management of content for the various communication mediums.Daily reviewing of content and posting content onto relevant electronic platforms. 8
Corporate information management: Knowledge Management &Library services Applicants must be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Sciences/Library Sciences/Knowledge Management. Day to day admin duties including cataloguing & classification of information resources, shelf reading and packing of books, media monitoring and prepare information resources for internal library loans. 9
Corporate Information Management: Frontline Services Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/ Degree in Public Relations/Tourism. Frontline services assisting in the day to day duties of frontline staff. 10
Protocol and Ceremonial Services: Ceremonial Services Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations/Political Sciences/Administration. Provide general administrative support, photocopying, faxing and filing of documents. Assist with procurement related duties such as obtaining quotations and do follow up. Updating a register of National Orders nominees. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to obtain records and other information. Assist with preparation of major events, make travel arrangements, process subsistence and travel forms. 11
Protocol and Ceremonial Services: Protocol Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/Degree in Administration/International Relations/ Communications. Provide general administrative support to the unit, inter alia, making travel arrangements for protocol officials, typing, photocopying, faxing and filing of documents. Ordering stationery and tracking expenditure. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders. Assist during preparation of major events. Make travel arrangements. Provide general administrative duties. 12
Events Management Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/Degree in Events Management/Public Relations. Draft project plans for events, draft pre & post events reports, provide general administrative support to the unit, inter alia, making travel arrangements, typing, photocopying, faxing, filing of documents, ordering stationery and tracking expenditure. 13
Household and Accommodation Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/Degree in Hospitality/Facilities Management. Provide effective food and beverage and cleaning services. Assist with provision of maintenance services. Checking and purchasing of stock. Monitor staff attendance. Planning of duties for the designated areas.  14
Information Technology Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/Degree in Information Systems/Systems Development/Business Applications/Information Technology. Development and maintenance of IT systems, business systems analysis, database administration, hardware & software support, helpdesk operations. 15
Human Resource Management: Conditions of Service Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/Degree in Human Resource Management/Personnel Management/Public Administration/Management. Conditions of service, HR data capturing, administration of HR practices. 16
Human Resource Management: Registry Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/Degree in Office Management/Public Administration/Knowledge Management. All registry administration 17
Organisational Development Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/Degree in Organisational Development/ Design/Management Services/ Production and Operations Management. Organisational Development, job evaluation, job descriptions, Ad-hoc tasks relating to the unit’s core functions. 18
Labour Relations, Employee Health and Wellness: Labour Relations Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/Degree in Labour Relations. Provide advice on disciplinary and grievance matters, minutes and report writing, capture cases on PERSAL, provide administrative support during disciplinary proceedings. Filing of Labour Relations records. 19
Labour Relations, Employee Health and Wellness: Employee Health and Wellness Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/Degree in Psychology/ Social Work. Coordinate health & wellness events, provide administrative support to the Directorate, minutes and report writing, screen and provide counselling to employees, filing of employee health & wellness cases. 20
Office of the Chief Operations Officer: Strategic Planning Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/Degree in Strategic Management/ Public Administration/ Social Sciences/ Monitoring and Evaluation. Assisting with secretariat tasks related to the strategic planning workshops /meetings and quarterly review sessions. Collecting and analysing branch performance reports on a quarterly basis, assisting with compilation of the quarterly and annual Presidency performance information reports. 21
Chief Financial Office: Budgets Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/Degree in Financial Management/ Budgeting/ Cost and Management Accounting. Capture budget on BAS, prepare in year monitoring reports, update expenditure on cash flow reports on monthly basis, assist in compilation of financial statements. 22
Chief Financial Office: Contract Management Applicants must be in possession of a Legal Degree (e.g. BCom: Law or LLB) Maintenance of the service level agreements and contract registers, monitoring of life cycle of contracts. 23

Supply Chain Management: Demand & Acquisitions Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management/ Transport Management/ Purchasing Management/ Logistics/ Public Management. Capture Suppliers on database, request quotations, evaluate quotations. 25
Supply Chain Management: Orders Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management/ Transport Management/ Purchasing Management/ Logistics/ Public Management. Capture external requisitions on Logis and PI, approve procurement advice and authorise ledger, issue order numbers to different suppliers. 26
Supply Chain Management: Payments Applicants must be in possession of National Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management/ Transport Management/ Purchasing Management/ Logistics/ Public Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for capturing of payments on Logis online,capturing of suppliers bank details an Logis system after been verified by National Treasury,checking of the allocations on the system before processing payments, Handling of all enquiries with regard to payments from both external and internal clients, verify the correctness of payment documents before processing, registering of payments in the register book before submitting them to Finance, ensure that payments are made within 30 days after the receipt of invoice, compile the weekly and monthly spreadsheet on processed payments. 27
Supply Chain Management: Transit and Warehouse Applicants must be in possession of National Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management/ Transport Management/ Purchasing Management/ Logistics/ Public Management. Receipts of goods and services, follow up on outstanding orders, certification invoices and capturing of invoices online thereof. 28
Supply Chain Management: Transport Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management/ Transport Management/ Purchasing Management/ Logistics/ Public Management. Management of transport bookings, traffic fines, accidents, hired and leased vehicles, flight and accommodation bookings, general administration. 29
Internal Security Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/Degree in Security. Administration and physical security. 30
Spousal Support Services Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/ Degree in Administration. Office administration, finance and supply chain management, document management. 31
Fosad Secretariat Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/Degree in Public Administration/ Social Sciences. Assist with administrative & logistical arrangements for successful convening & hosting of FOSAD cluster meetings, provide secretariat services to FOSAD cluster meetings. 32
Risk Management Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/Degree in Auditing/ Commerce. Coordinate risk management process, assist during the risk identification and assessment across the organisation, conduct fraud detection reviews, general administrative duties. 33
Cape Town Office: Accommodation and Households Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/ Degree in Hospitality / Facilities. Co-ordination of household and accommodation functions, provide effective cleaning services, ensure arrangements for reservations of function rooms are coordinated and arrangements thereof effectively managed, provide effective food & beverage services.Purchasing of adequate cleaning supplies according to the requirements of the department. 34
Cape Town Office: Procurement Applicants must be in possession of a National Diploma/ Degree in Supply Chain Management/ Logistics/ Purchasing Management. Facilitate the process to obtain operating equipment, compile procurement requests, obtain quotes, initiate procurement process, obtain authority for procurement , procure operatingequipment and commodities as requested, evaluate performance and compliance with supply chain management process and policies, ensure preferred supplier delivers the correct items

as per invoice and quotation, ensure sound records management ( filing system and case

recording system), develop and implement customer service improvement strategies, ensure regular interaction with suppliers to determine delivery dates and times.
