The bus rapid transit company of the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, Tshwane Rapid Transit (also known as A Re Yeng), is inviting applications from unemployed South African citizens who are resident with the municipality with a Grade 9 or higher qualification qualification. The learnerships contracts will be for between 12 months and learners will be trained to become qualified professional drivers. A Driver’s License is NOT required for young people (35 years old and below), but if you have it – it will serve as an advantage. Learners will be paid a monthly allowance for the duration of the learnership.

What are the requirements?

Applicants are required to meet the following requirements:

  • Be a South African citizen;
  • Have a Grade 9 (old Standard 7) or higher (e.g Grade 12) – a certified copy of your report is required
  • Be able to read, write and speak English;
  • A driver’s license is NOT required for applicants between 18 and 35 years old (however, for applicants above 35 years until 40 years of age, a Code 10 / 14 driver’s license is required)
  • Must be staying in the Tshwane area;
  • Be willing to enter into a 12 months learnership programme and a performance evaluation contract;
  • Have no criminal record.

The newly-launched bus rapid transit company of the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, Tshwane Rapid Transit (popularly known as A Re Yeng), is inviting applications from unemployed South African citizens with a Grade 12 qualification coupled with an N3 certificate in an engineering-related field for its apprentice learnership opportunities. The apprenticeship contracts will be for between 24 and  48 months and apprentices / learners will be trained to become qualified artisans in the following trades: Auto Electrical, Spray painting, Air-conditioning, Auto body-building and panel-beating, and Natural and Compressed Gas.

What are the requirements?

Applicants are required to meet the following requirements:

  • Have an N3 in Engineering studies (with Mathematics and Engineering Science as passed subjects);
  • Have Matric/ Grade 12 with Pure Mathematics & Physical Science (Have an average of no less than 60%, in each of these subjects);
  • Be able to read, write and speak English;
  • Be 28 years old or younger;
  • Stay in the Tshwane area;
  • Be physically able to do the work and pass a medical examination by the Company Physician;
  • Willingness to undertake relevant psychometric tests;
  • Have no criminal record;
  • Be willing to enter into an apprenticeship learnership contract with A Re Yeng;
  • Be willing to enter into a performance evaluation contract; and
  • Have a willingness to travel to training facilities and sleep out when so required.
