ATNS Air Traffic Control Bursaries (Only Matric required)

The Air Traffic & Navigation Services (ATNS) is inviting applications for its 2017 Air Traffic Control Bursaries from South African citizens with a Matric / Grade 12 certificate. The ATNS bursary programme will provide each successful applicant with an opportunity to undergo training and complete their studies to become air traffic control officer (ATCO) at the Aviation Training Academy (ATA) in Bonaero Park, Gauteng.

What are the requirements?

In order to be considered, candidates have to meet the following minimum requirements:

Be a South African over the age of 18 years;
Have a Grade 12 / Matric certificate with Mathematics and English as passed subjects (Old Matric: HG D or SG C OR NSC: level 4 upwards);
Be medically fit.

ATNS Training Bursary Programme 2013

ATNS provides air traffic services throughout the country and is responsible for the provision of the air traffic control and navigation system infrastructure necessary to ensure a safe and effective service.

Bursary Programme:

The training bursary provides each bursar with an opportunity to conduct their studies at the Aviation Training Academy (ATA) in Bonaero Park.
After the successful completion of the initial course at the ATA, ATNS may offer the bursar a eighteen months fixed term contract to complete the necessary operational on the job training including additional studies at the ATA.

Requirements

- Grade 12 with English and Mathematics (not Mathematics Literacy)
- Symbols HG D, SG C or Level 4 and above
- Must be 18 years or older

This bursary if for someone who is: fluent in English with no speech impediments, Confident, Goal Driven.

No experience required but aviation passion and knowledge will be advantageous.
