Department of Justice and Constitutional Development is inviting Graduate for its 2021-2023 internship programme. Who should apply? Unemployed South African graduates, with a tertiary qualification in the above-mentioned field of study, who has not previously participated in any Candidate Attorney programme. These internships are based in the Attorneys Offices. Candidates who wish to apply for internship outside their respective Regions must be willing and able to find their own accommodation considering that they will not earn a salary but only a stipend. Separate applications must be made for each Office which you are applying for and quoting the relevant reference number for the centre of your choice Apre-employment security screening will be conducted on RSA citizenship, criminal record, credit record and verification of qualification. The outcome of this screening will be considered to determine suitability for employment.

South Africa’s Competition Commission, which is a an independent commission of the Department of Economic Development, is inviting applications for its 2016 Law and Economics Internships from unemployed South Africans with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or an Honours degree in Economics. Successful candidates will be based in Pretoria for the duration of the internship contract and will receive an annual stipend of R143 130.30 (equating to R11 927.53 per month).

What are the requirements?

You have to meet the following minimum requirements to be considered:

  • Be a South African citizen with a completed LLB degree or Honours degree in Economics;
  • Must have not been employed permanently before;
  • Be a consistent academic performer who achieved an total average of 60% or higher;
  • Have great writing skills;
  • Possess good research, investigative and analytical skills;
  • Be able to work under pressure; and
  • Be a self-starter with excellent written and verbal communications skills.
