On the Quality Management Graduate programme you’ll be exposed to our fast moving food manufacturing processes as a factory level, as well as doing statistical data analysis and managing computerized quality systems. We are looking for B.Sc graduates in KZN and Gauteng.

What are the requirements?

  • BSc in Microbiology or Biochemistry with a minimum average of 60% in the final year of studies;
  • Proficiency using MS Office (more specifically Excel);

The CSIR/Department of Science and Technology National Centre for Nano-structured Materials is a platform for the implementation of the South African National Nanotechnology Strategy. It undertakes innovative research on nano-structured materials and has an extensive research network with other local and international research organisations. It has a strong focus on human capital development; makes a significant contribution to the creation and dissemination of new scientific knowledge; and collaborates closely with industry to help ensure successful outcomes and impact of the group’s research and development (R&D) activities. This position is based in Pretoria.

Key responsibilities:

  • Calibrate sensitivity data to actual pollutant gas concentrations.
  • Design and implement circuits for the readout of sensing data.
  • Design tests to be conducted with diabetes, chirrosis, and renal failure patients’ breath for determination of acetone, aldehyde and NH3 gases employing given gas sensors.

Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • A Bachelor’s or Honours degree in biochemistry and physiology.
  • Communicationand presentation skills.
  • Problem-solving, solution-seeking orientation.
  • A goal-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams.
  • Computer literacy.
