Department of Labour Pupil Inspector Bursaries

The South African Department of Labour is inviting applications for its Pupil Inspector (Learner Inspector) [Reference No.: HR 4/17/02/04 HO] bursary opportunities from prospective students who are either currently in Matric or have completed Matric with a pass of 60% or more in Mathematics and Physical Science. Students already at university or university of technology studying towards a relevant qualification and those sitting at home with a Grade 12 are also invited to apply. These bursaries are open to applicants currently studying or planning to study towards any of these fields in 2017: Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering (Light / Heavy Current), Environmental Health / Science, and Mechanical Engineering. These opportunity is valued at R100 545 per year.

What are the requirements?

In order to be considered, applicants have to meet the following requirements:

Must be a South African citizen;
Be currently in Matric / Grade 12 OR have a Grade 12 certificate and wish to study OR be a current student at a university or university of technology in any of the following fields:
- Chemical Engineering,
- Civil Engineering,
- Electrical Engineering (Light / Heavy Current),
- Environmental Health / Science, OR
- Mechanical Engineering.
Current students must not be recipients of any bursary or other student finance;
Current matric students / those who completed Matric must have passed Physical Science and Mathematics with 60% or more.

The National Metrology Institute of South Africa (NMISA) is inviting applications from current Matric learners, South African with a Matric certificate, as well as current students or prospective students in both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of study in specific science and engineering related fields to apply for their 2017 Bursaries. The bursaries are open to full-time students in any of the following subjects: Engineering (Electrical/ Electronic, Mechanical), Materials Science, Physics and Chemistry.

What are the requirements?

The requirements differ, depending on which level of education you have completed or are currently completing:

For current Grade 12 / Matric learners:
- Must be planning to study towards a tertiary qualification in any of the following: Engineering (Electrical/ Electronic, Mechanical), Materials Science, Physics or Chemistry;
- Be a South African citizen; and
- Be able to provide Grade 11 results and a Grade 12 progress report.
For school-leavers with a completed Grade 12 certificate:
- Must be planning to study towards a tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic), Physics or Materials Science;
- Be a South African; and
- Have a Grade 12 certificate passed with good marks.
For students already at tertiary:
- Be a South African student studying towards a post graduate or undergraduate qualification in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or Physics.

Engineering and construction multinational AECOM’s South African division is inviting applications for its 2017 bursaries from current matric learners or university/university of technology students who will be studying towards a tertiary qualification in either of the following: Project Management, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or Quantity Surveying. Candidates must be planning to study towards their qualification on a full-time basis at any university in any of these provinces: KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng or Western Cape.

The Capricorn District Municipality in Limpopo is inviting applications from unemployed young South Africans residing in any of its four local municipalities: Aganang, Polokwane, Lepelle-Nkumpi, Molemole and Blouberg. The bursary will pay for all study fees including, school fees, books, food, registration, and accommodation. Applications from applicants who are studying or want to study towards their first at any institution of higher learning (college, university of technology or university) in the Capricorn District Municipality.

What are the requirements?

In order to be considered for the CDM Bursaries, you have to meet the following minimum requirements:

Have an excellent pass in your Grade 12 / Matric;
Be financially needy;
Be willing to study towards a water-related or engineering qualification;
Be a permanent resident of the Capricorn District Municipality (CDM) [Proof of residence from Municipality / local headman / tribal council is strictly required]; and
Must not be currently receiving any funding from any bursary or scholarship.

The City of Johannesburg’s water purification, distribution and management company, Johannesburg Water, is inviting applications for its 2016 bursaries for tertiary study in various study fields for 2016. The bursaries are open to various fields of study relevent to the operations of Johannesburg Water, for 2016 the bursaries will be awarded for the following areas of study: Communication, Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing; Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Civil Engineering. The Johannesburg Water 2016 Bursaries covers all costs of study including tuition fees, residence, and pays a cash allowance. Successful candidates will also work for Johannesburg Water during university vacations, and they will be paid for this.

What are the requirements?

To be considered for the 2016 Johannesburg Water Bursaries, you have to meet the following minimum requirements:

Be a South African citizen;
Be willing to enter into a contract of employment with Johannesburg Water;
Must be studying towards the qualifications listed in the table below and meet the requirements listed opposite each:

Qualifications	Requirements
Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or Journalism	Must have completed the first year or higher level (i.e. you must be in 2^nd year or above in 2016)
National Diploma: Electrical Engineering	Must have completed S1 (i.e. you must be doing S2 or above in 2016)
