The South African Reserve Bank together with the South African Bank Notes Company Proprietary Limited are inviting South Africans Citizen in the field of Technical and Engineering for its Work Integrated Learning Programme. The successful candidates will be grouped according to their field of study Namely: artisans, technicians and engineering will be based in the South African Reserve Bank Head Office in Pretoria and will rotate to  South African Bank Notes Company and the South African Mint. The programme in artisans and technician  will start in October 2018 while in engineering will start in December 2018 and the stipend will be paid to participant for duration of the programme.

What are the requirements?

In order to be considered, applicants must be South African citizen and meet the following requirements:

  •  Artisans: This group will comprise learners from technical and vocational education and training (TVET) colleges who have an N4 certificate but require 24 months’ practical work experience in order to obtain an occupational trade qualification or a trade test. The fields of study provided for are electrical, electronics, plumbing, air-conditioning and carpentry
  • Technicians: This group will comprise learners from universities of technology who have an S3 certificate but require 12 months’ practical work experience as a requirement to complete their national diploma. The 12 months will be spread over two years, where the learners do the first six months after completing their S3 block and the other six months after completing their S4 block. The fields of study provided for are electrical, electronic and mechanical.
  • Engineering: This group will comprise students from universities studying towards a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and who require practical or vocational work experience as partial requirement to obtain their qualification. The four-month learnership will be spread over two years, where learners complete the first two months while in their third year of study and the other two months while in their fourth year of study. The fields of study provided for are for electrical (heavy current) and mechanical

6-month Internship Programme

Become Part of the Green Economy Career Development Opportunity

The National Cleaner Production Centre of SA (NCPC-SA) is the dti’s key industrial sustainability programme, tasked with contributing to a competitive green economy and strengthening market access for SA industry. This is done by transferring resource efficiency and cleaner production (RECP) technologies and services to industry, aimed at achieving measurable economic, environmental and social benefits.

The NCPC-SA’s Internship Programme offers graduate and postgraduate students in the field of engineering (various disciplines), the opportunity to become part of this initiative and programme and gain valuable in-plant experience by assisting companies in addressing competitive challenges, production weaknesses and skills gaps. The in-plant company placements will be preceded by a ten-day intensive training programme and a qualified mentor will be assigned to support a group of successful applicants. Placement will be from 1 April 2013. These positions are based in Durban.

Requirements:

A 3-year National Diploma, Bachelor’s degree, Bachelor of Technology, Honours or Master’s qualification in any engineering field.

Employment on the Graduate Development Programme is permanent and continues after completion of the programme. Graduates are recruited as per the business and project needs of Murray & Roberts. You will be employed where your skills are needed and this can be anywhere in South Africa, therefore relocation is possible. Salaries are market related.

What are the requirements?

Murray & Roberts recruits B Eng, BSc and B Tech graduates with a strong academic record.

To be considered you need to:

  • Be a South African citizen or permanent resident
  • Have no more than two years full time work experience since graduating
  • Be prepared to work in any area of the country where your skills are needed.
  • Participation in extramural activities, achievement and leadership ability will also be considered when making a decision.
