The government department responsible for South Africa’s water and sanitation needs, the Department of Water and Sanitation, is inviting applications for its 2016 Human Resources (HR) Internships (Ref: 220416/01) from unemployed South African graduates with a tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management. The Department aims to employ ten (10) candidates on this internship. Successful candidates will be required to sign a 12 months internship contract and will be paid an annual salary of R132 399 (equating to R11 033 per month). Interns will be based at the Department of Water and Sanitation in Pretoria.

What are the requirements?

In order to be considered for these internships, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Must have completed your qualification (National Diploma OR Bachelor’s degree at NQF Level 6 or higher) or the theoretical part of your qualification in Human Resource Management;
  • Must be a South African citizen between the ages of 17 and 35 years; and

Who is eligible to apply?
Graduate interns: Unemployed South African graduates with a tertiary qualification in any of the above-mentioned fields of study who have not been previously employed or participated in an internship programme.

Student interns: Unemployed South African students who are currently studying towards a higher-education qualification and need to be exposed to the work environment in order for them to obtain the qualification they are studying for. Only students who have not been previously employed or participated in an internship programme should apply.

How to apply?
Applications must be submitted on Z83 form, obtainable from any public departments or CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD, stating the field for which the intern is applying (from the above list). A CV, certified copies of certificates, academic transcripts, and Identity document must be attached. The certification stamp must not be older than three months and failure to submit the required documents will result in the application been disqualified.
