The Department of Water Affairs and Sanitation of the Government of South Africa is inviting applications for their 2022 bursaries in various study fields related to the department’s mandate from young South Africans in Grade 12 or already at tertiary studying towards a relevant qualification. Bursaries will be allocated on the basis of a balanced consideration of the following factors:

  • Academic performance
  • Race and gender
  • Financial need
  • Need of DWS in reference of the specific qualifications

Successful applicants to the bursary scheme receive the following support:

  • Full tertiary registration and tuition costs
  • Residence and meal fees
  • Book allowance
  • An annual personal allowance

Obligations

DWS will require bursars who obtain their qualifications to join Water Learning Academy on a fixed-term contract for a period of maximum of three (3) years.

Successful candidates will be appointed as interns and placed with the relevant industry/research institution/institution of higher learning as young professionals. Successful candidates will also be allocated a mentor and will receive a monthly allowance from the Department.

The CHIETA has established a bursary Programme to offer financial assistance to young South Africans who qualify to undertake full-time studies at any accredited South African Public Tertiary Institution within the following sub-sectors:

Petroleum Explosives Fast Moving Consumer Goods
Base Chemicals Fertilisers Speciality Chemicals
Glass Pharmaceuticals Surface Coatings

The following fields of study shall be prioritised for funding:

Analytical Chemistry Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering
Biochemistry Polymer Technology Environmental Science
Chemical Engineering Pharmacy Industrial Engineering
Biomedical Technology Operations Management Bachelor of Science

The bursary will cover tuition fees as determined through the institutions statement of account up to the maximum capped amount of R45 000.00 for Under-graduates and R60 000.00 for Post-graduates per annum. If there is a balance available then books and other expenses can be covered based on proof of expenditure up to the CHIETA’s maximum capped amount.

Eligibility

  • South African citizen
  • Youth between the age of 16 to 35 who do not have any other bursary funding
  • Applicants who have recently completed Grade 12/Matric with Mathematics and Physical Science
  • Applicants who registered with a Tertiary Institution and have passed all their modules of their previous semester or year
  • Such applicants must already be studying at an accredited South African Tertiary Institution in one of the above mentioned fields of study

  • Applicants must complete in full the Bursary Application form which is available on the CHIETA website Attach a certified ID copy (not older than 3 months)
  • Attach a certified copy of final Grade 12 results or recent statement of results.
  • Certified proof of registration from a Tertiary Institution to be submitted before contract signing if awarded the bursary

Applicants are invited to apply to study towards the Diploma in Nursing (Psychiatric, Community and Midwifery) in 2018 at one of the Gauteng Nursing Colleges: • Ann Latsky Nursing College • Chris Hani Baragwanath Nursing College • SG Lourens Nursing College

The following subject criteria are required:

  • Senior Certificate: English HG D or SG C, Biology HG D or SG C and an M score of 15
  • National Senior Certificate: English Level 4, Life Sciences Level 4 and an APS of 25 (Life orientation counts half the score)
  • National Vocational Certificate: 50% in Fundamental Subjects (English First Additional Language, Maths/Maths Literacy, Life Orientation) and 60% in the Vocational Subjects (SA Health Care System, Public Health, The Human Body and Mind and Community Oriented Primary Care)
  • Current Grade 12 learners must meet the National Senior Certificate requirements in their Grade 11 final results.

This department has been issuing bursaries to students and matric learners for studying agriculture, forestry and fisheries-related careers for a number of years and most of their bursary recipients a doing very well both in the private and public sector of the South African economy.

What are the requirements for the 2015 Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Bursary Programme?

To be considered for a Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries bursary you have to be intending to study or currently studying towards one of the following and meet the specified requirements:

  2. Honours (BSc. Hon. / BScAgric.Hons)
  3. Masters (M.Tech. OR Msc.)

The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) intends awarding comprehensive bursaries during the 2013 academic year to qualifying applicants wishing to further their studies in scares skills fields, aligned to the mandate of the dti. Applications are welcome from across the nine provinces, as follows:

NB! In addition to the above requirements, applicants should:

•  Currently be in the process of completing or has completed grade 12 but are not currently registered at a University;

•  Be South African citizens;

•  Show proof of admission (provisional admission to a higher education institution where the applied field of study is offered); and

The KwaZulu Natal Department of Transport invites applicants who wish to further their studies in the following fields of study:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Surveying
  • Transportation Management &
  • Masters Degree (provided that the final thesis is in the field of road safety) (2)

Requirements:

  • Applicants must reside in KwaZulu Natal
  • Applicants must have been accepted at a recognized tertiary institution
  • Be between the ages of 18-35

South Africa’s National Treasury invites exceptional matric scholars and/or university students to apply for their bursary programme for starting in the 2013 academic year. This bursary programme is aimed at only those South African students and scholars who hard-workers. “If you are in matric: You have a grade 12 certificate with university exemption and an aggregate of 65% or higher . OR If you are already in university: You have obtained an average of 60% or higher for the previous year of study at university ”.

Who qualifies for the National Treasury Bursary Programme 2013?

  • You are a South African citizen
  • You meet the entry requirements for your chosen field of study (provide proof ofregistration or provisional acceptance at the university)
  • Financial need
  • You must be studying or intending to study in one or more of the fields stated below:
  1. Economics
  2. Accounting
  3. Taxation
  4. Econometrics
  5. Statistics/Mathematics
  • If you are in matric: You have a grade 12 certificate with university exemptionand an aggregate of 65% or higher
  • If you are already in university: You have obtained an average of 60% orhigher for the previous year of study at university

If awarded to you, the bursary will cover your tuition fees, registration, prescribed books only , and accommodation at an official university residence and meals .

  • Updated CV
  • Certified copy of your SA identity document
