The Department of Trade, Industry and Competition invite graduates to apply for internship opportunities for a period of 24 months commencing 01 July 2022 to 30 June 2024. Through the Internship Programme, the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic) is committed to providing opportunities for qualifying candidates to gain skills, knowledge and experience whilst at the same time, positioning themselves for active and meaningful participation in the labour market. 


Aspiring Public Servants, who share the vision of the dtic of a dynamic industrial, globally competitive South African economy, characterised by inclusive growth and development, decent employment and equity and who value intellectual and operational excellence as well as quality relationships are encouraged to apply for this exciting programme. 


Interns will receive a monthly stipend starting from R6 000.00 in accordance with their highest qualification at the time of appointment. Applicants who have already participated in any Government Internship Programme will not be considered and if it is found that this was the case after appointment, the contract will be terminated with immediate effect.

The Gauteng Provincial Legislature is inviting applications for their 2021 Graduate Internships from suitably qualified South Africans citizens, especially residents of Gauteng. The internships are available in various fields of study (see table below). Interns will be based at the Legislature offices in Johannesburg, Gauteng. A monthly stipend of up to R7000 will be paid for the duration of the internship.

The Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL) Internship programme is a 24-month fixed term contract that provides workplace experience. It allows one to gain valuable work experience and provides the intern with an opportunity to obtain an understanding of the GPL, its values and work ethic. The applicants need to have completed at least their undergraduate degree or degree equivalent by the end of 2020.

The objective of the GPL Internship Programme is to assist graduates and people with qualifications to obtain workplace experience and the GPL to contribute to the up skilling of individuals as per the Skills Development Act.

Distell offers exciting opportunities to suitable candidates for potential placement in our Engineering Department.  This position will be based at Adam Tas, Stellenbosch.  The successful applicant will report to the Plant Engineering Manager.

Purpose of the Position

The Intention is to give practical work experience to students who completed the theoretical studies and require exposure in a work environment. Successful interns will be expected to enter into a 12 month contract commencing 01 October 2017 and terminating on 30 September 2018.

Key Learning areas include (but are not limited to):

  • CAPEX planning, scheduling and execution (Will serve as a project to be submitted for in-service training)

Original text: The Massmart Graduate Development Programme (MGDP) is aimed at ensuring that young talented graduates are given the right foundational knowledge and practical experience to become authentic future career retailers. Since 2007, the MGDP runs for a year and consists of a theory and practical component. The Wits Business School (WBS) and UCS Retail Academy partner with us to deliver a NQF level 7 accredited programme. The WBS programme equips graduates with foundational management skills and competencies, as well as entry level professional skills. We believe this combination will adequately prepare graduates for future roles in our organisation.

The MGDP is not only focused on educating graduates about the realities of the retail industry and the Massmart business, we also appreciate that graduates are new to the world of work and need assistance to transition successfully.

The bursaries are open to South Africans with or completing tertiary qualifications in any of the following fields: Communication / Media / Public Relations / Journalism,  LLB, BCom Accounting, Engineering, Marketing / Entrepreneurship / Management, Economics / Statistics / Econometrics, and Logistics amongst others.
