]]>Key responsibilities:
• Assemble, configure and support of end point devices, inclusive of the necessary user support required;
• Deploy and support network and telephony infrastructure;
• Provide professional customer services;
• Support and Administrate ICT servers, back-ups jobs and storage systems;
• Provide support in line with CSIR’s processes and procedures;
• Perform necessary debugging on all equipment to ensure proper functionality, and help out on all projects that involve end-user support;
• Perform basic network and telephony service support, installations, configuration and providing general user advise where required;
• Troubleshoot software and hardware;
• Manage, maintain and roll-out desktop;
• Provide support on both network and stand-alone printers;
• Ensure desktop functionality is available and accessible at all times to CSIR end-users;
• Ensure quality service is provided to clients;
• Support Microsoft and Linux desktops in a Novell environment.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
• A National Diploma in information technology;
• A+ and N+ would be an added advantage;
• Basic computer knowledge;
• Customer service orientation;
• Ability to manage stress;
• Ability to work with a team;
• Communication skills;
• Ability to handle difficult customers;
• Ability to take initiative.
